SSD evaluating AT&T's proposal to build a 65 foot tall Cell Phone Tower on SMS campus

Sunnyvale School District (SSD) has agreed to evaluate AT&T's proposal to build a 65 foot tall Cell Phone Tower (CPT) on the grounds of Sunnyvale Middle School (SMS).

A community information meeting was held on November 18th at SMS. Less than two dozens people attended. Many attended claimed to not have received any notification of the meeting but through word of mouth from friends and neighbors.

Why did people not receive notifications?

What are the guidelines for notifying the residents anyway?

Believe it or not, I cannot find any guidelines or ordinance regarding installing wireless communication facilities in any Sunnyvale city website. I did find Cupertino's Wireless Communications Facilities Ordinance:

According to Sunnyvale's Planning Committee, notifications were sent out to property owners or residents (that wasn't clear and it is important to distinguish because an apartment complex is directly across from the site). But only to properties or residents within 300 feet of the site. The school supposedly sent out notification to students claiming a communications center would be built within the school ground.

What is the site? Is it where the 65 foot tower itself or is it the whole school ground? Big difference, don't you think?

Are school children residents?

What is a communications center? Would you call a Cell Phone Tower a communications center?

Why did the SMS PTA not on the case? Aren't PTAs supposed to advocate for the well-being of the students?

Something fishy is going on! I swear to uncover the truth!

If you have a copy of any notification from the City of Sunnyvale, AT&T, SMS or School Board, please forward a copy to me. I will display it on this website sans your name and contact information.
